Clinical research related to the cervical spine

This research on osteopathic manipulation related to kinematics and clinical data. We measure kinematics parameters during cervical manipulation performed by different operators using a 6 degree-of-freedom spatial linkage (CA 6000 Spine Motion Analyser, Orthopedic System Inc., Union City, CA, USA) or stereophotogrammetry (Vicon system) and analyze the clinical effects on subjects (asymptomatic and patients) such as range of motion, motion patterns, repositioning features and clinical improvement.

The image shows operator handling during cervical spine manipulation subject in sitting position. 3D electrogoniometer is attached to the upper trunk with a strapping system at the level of the spinous process of the first thoracic vertebra.
